Abstract

Registration of new students is a school activity that occurs every year, even in the middle of the teaching year. In general, the process of accepting new students is carried out through several stages such as the registration process, selection, entrance test, announcement of student acceptance. Data management for new student admissions at the Tahfidzul Qur'an Islamic boarding school in Surakarta is still carried out face-to-face, that is, the parents of the students and the students have to go to the Islamic boarding school first if they want to register. This research aims to design a registration information system at the Tahfidzul Qur'an Islamic boarding school in Surakarta using the waterfall method, with steps including needs analysis, system design, program code design, system testing. This web-based new student registration information system was built using the PHP programming language and utilizes the MySQL data base as the data server. The result of this research is a web-based new student admissions information system that has the ability to make it easy for parents of prospective new students to obtain information about new student admissions and register online. Evaluation is also carried out through the System Usability Scale (SUS) questionnaire and using the Myer method in order to produce an application that can be used well, and in this test it will involve 30 respondents producing an average score of 88. The results of this research can prove that the implementation of the online PPDB system Can be used at the Tahfidzul Qur'an Iphi Surakarta Islamic boarding school.
