Abstract
This study was conducted to analyze the relationship between the index of regional competitiveness (RCI) which consists of elements of institutions, infrastructure, macroeconomic stability, adaptation of information and communication technology (ICT), education, health and labor market to regional financial performance through the index of fiscal independence in Java Island in 2023. This analysis uses cross-section data with a sample of 118 regencies / cities in Java Island in 2023. The analysis method used in this research is the Ordinary Least Square (OLS) approach. The results showed that the variables of Infrastructure, and Macroeconomic Stability had a positive effect on regional financial performance. While the health element has a negative influence on the fiscal independence index. Institutional elements, education, adoption of communication and information technology (ICT), and labor market have no significant effect on the fiscal independence index.
