Abstract

Wireless communication technologies such as Bluetooth have become a practical solution for various short-range control applications. This research aims to design and develop an effective wireless digital communication system using the Bluetooth HC-05 module, focusing on controlling two lights through a single controller. The research method involves hardware and software design, as well as system performance testing by measuring communication latency. Tests were conducted in two main scenarios, obstacle testing and unobstructed testing, with a testing distance of 5 meters each to be compared. The results showed that the connection time for slave 1 increased by 98.32% when obstacles were present. For slave 2, the connection time increases by 39.79% when an obstacle is present. In addition, the standard deviation of connection time for slave 1 with obstruction is 10.64 seconds and without obstruction is 3.41 seconds. For slave 2, the standard deviation with obstruction is 5.94 seconds and without obstruction is 2.81 seconds. The conclusion of this research is that the designed system is able to provide the desired performance with more consistent results in unobstructed conditions, and can be applied to various wireless control applications with short-range communication needs
