Abstract
This study aims to describe the habituation of literacy in elementary schools which includes implementation, obstacles and solutions. This research is a qualitative research. Data collection techniques in this study in the form of observation, interviews, and documentation The data analysis technique used in this study is interactive analysis includes three stages, namely data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results showed that the implementation of literacy in Indonesian learning in elementary schools based on the provisions of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology. Obstacles faced in the form of low literacy culture in students, lack of use of facilities and infrastructure by students, teachers do not provide examples of literacy habitusion. Solution 1) The low culture of literacy in students is carried out by providing reading materials in the school library. Diverse reading types can expand their knowledge of many things so that learners can see different opportunities and have more options. 2) The lack of utilization of facilities and infrastructure by students is carried out by the use of educational props and games that use text, for example, scrabble to enrich the vocabulary of learners. Games and props. Utilization of information technology media. Digital media provides many learning resources. ,. 3) Teachers do not give examples of literacy habits. Done with the Teacher selecting a book that is worthy of the learners. The teacher chooses the right reading material, both in terms of language and story content, according to the psychological condition and level of understanding of the learners. If students read reading material that is in accordance with their condition, students can feel the pleasure of reading. That way, the interest in reading will increase.
