Abstract
This study aims to describe the role of parents, parental constraints, and the collaboration of parents and teachers in assisting learning for children during the Covid-19 pandemic in Gumpang Sukoharjo Village. The type of research used is qualitative research with an ethnographic research design. Data collection techniques used are observation, interviews and documentation. The validity of the data in this study used source triangulation. The results of research on the role of parents in mentoring children's learning in Gumpang Sukoharjo Village show that: 1) The role of parents is, as a guide, as a motivator and as a facilitator, 2) Obstacles faced by parents are: a) Lack of parental knowledge of the material , b) Lack of time in accompanying children to study, c) Economic difficulties, 3) Forms of collaboration between parents and teachers, namely: a) The collaboration is in the form of coordinating teacher communication with parents regarding the material or tasks given by the teacher via WhatsApp, b) The teacher asks about progress children at home, through a whatsapp group with parents and asking how the child's progress was when receiving the report card.
