Abstract
Hypertension is often called the silent killer because the patient does not know that he has hypertension. For patients, it is very important to apply self-management of hypertension to prevent and reduce the impact of complications. Self-management of hypertension in this case includes self-integration, self-regulation, interaction with health workers and others, blood pressure monitoring, and adherence to recommended rules. To find out the description of self management in hypertension sufferers in the working area of the Sukorejo Health Center Blitar. This research is a qualitative research using descriptive method. The number of samples in this study were 35 respondents with accidental sampling technique. The data collection instrument used the HSMBQ (Hypertension Self Management Behavior Questionnaire) questionnaire with a total of 40 questions, while the data analysis used universal. The majority are 56-65 years old, the last education is elementary school, are female, work as housewives, have suffered from 1-4 years, and the majority have never had low blood pressure. From this study self-management of hypertension sufferers at a good level. Suggestion: respondents are expected to change their health behavior for better so that blood pressure can be controlled and reduce the risk of complications. long suffered 1-4 years, and the majority have never experienced low blood pressure.
