Abstract

This study aims to find out how legal protection is against piracy of novel literary works in online media and what efforts can be made to prevent piracy of novel literary works in online media. The data analysis method uses this model qualitatively. Based on the results of the study, it was concluded that legal protection against piracy of novel literary works in online media was deemed not to protect novel writers as aggrieved parties in terms of the Republic of Indonesia law number 28 of 2014 concerning copyright and efforts to prevent piracy of novel literary works in online media. carried out by among others, namely (1) Using an e-book that already has an official license; (2) Determination of the creative common concept; (3) Tax reduction by the government; (4) Application of the doctrine of social control planning; (5) Dissemination to the public regarding the importance of respect for a copyrighted work; (6) Moral education from an early age in order to appreciate a copyrighted work; (7) Cooperation between copyright holders together with a publisher and the government is carried out to create a condition so that the price of books is no longer burdensome to the public; (8) Applying a reading culture to the community.
