Abstract
The purpose of the research to be carried out is (1) to determine the effect given by the waste from the Leather Industry Environment (LIK) on the quality of resident well water in Ringinagung Village, Magetan District, Magetan Regency, in terms of pH, temperature, DO, BOD, TDS, hardness parameters. , and chloride using the Pollution Index Method. (2) to give consideration to the government of Magetan Regency in overcoming waste pollution from tanneries in Ringinagung Village, Magetan District, Magetan Regency. The sampling of raw water as many as 3 water samples were carried out in the Tannery Industry area with sampling points selected with variations in distance of 200 m, 400 m, 600 m, from the Tannery Industry area. In this study, this type of measurement uses the type of measurement by sending a sample of well water that has been taken directly to the laboratory for testing the quality of clean water and will be analyzed using the Pollution Index method. The conclusions obtained from the results of observations and analysis of the Effect of Tanning Waste on the quality of well water in Magetan Regency (case study of Ringinagung Village, Magetan District, Magetan Regency: (1) According to the water sample testing of each well using the benchmarks imposed by the Indonesian Government Regulation Number 22 of 2021 concerning the Implementation of Environmental Protection and Management, from the test results the pH value is between 7.5-7.8, the temperature is evenly distributed at 26 degrees, the DO value is between 3.1-4.3, the BOD value is between 5-6, the TDS value is between 254-400, the hardness value is between 163-183, the chloride value is between 141-191. (2) The results of data analysis using the Pollution Index method , the average contamination index (PI) is = 1.315. So it is included in the category " Light Pollution” so that it can be said that the three samples of well water in the area around the Leather Industry Environment in Ringinagung Village, Magetan District, Magetan Regency are not included in the category of meeting the stipulated quality standards for class I water.
