Abstract

Non-formal Islamic education is an activity carried out outside formal schools to achieve goals in various aspects. The mosque today is widely used as a multifunctional place of worship that is useful for the people. During this pandemic, many mosques cannot be used for education or worship to anticipate the spread of COVID-19. In Pengkok Village, there is a mosque that is still used to conduct Islamic education and places of worship despite this pandemic season, so that with this background, there is a problem formulation regarding the history of non-formal Islamic education in the Darussalam mosque in Pengkok village. What are the driving and inhibiting factors for the implementation of the recitation at the Darussalam mosque in Pengkok village. The purpose of this study, first, is to find out the history of non-formal Islamic education at the Darussalm Mosque and the motivating and inhibiting factors for recitation at the Darussalam Mosque. This study uses direct research methods in the field (Field Research). In this study using a qualitative approach, namely by collecting data directly by conducting observations, interviews and documentation, data analysis techniques, the author uses qualitative descriptive analysis. Results and Discussion that the history of education needs to be known so that history is not lost. Darussalam Mosque was founded by the family of Prince Diponegoro who came to Pengkok village during the Diponegoro war. The mosque has undergone a change in shape from the time it was founded until now, it has been built 3 to 4 times. Darussalam Mosque has an activity that is highlighted by the surrounding community, namely the study of the interpretation of the Qur'an. The recitation began in the 1970s, which began with 3 people, then over the years until now there are thousands of worshipers who attend the recitation.
