Abstract

Education have an important role in life to build personality and intelligence students to be the best human therefore education continuously evaluated and improved. see the condition of the character student in indonesia, still far from expected there is a moral decline including drugs, brawl, student dating behavior which is very worrying, see this condition students need someone who can be used an example of good character, someone who have good character is Utsman ibn Affan. Utsman have good character he has never adultery before nor after Islam, he also always accompied the messenger of allah in preaching. Starting from that this thesis has a probem formulation (1) how is the value of character education in Utsman Ibn Affan’s life story book by Dr. Musthafa Murrad?. (2) what is relevance of character education valuein Utsman ibn Affan life story book by Dr. Musthafa Murrad with Islamic education now? This research uses the type of library research. data obtained from Utsman ibn Affan’s life story book by Dr. Musthafa Murrad and strengthened using other supporting data. The results of this research show in the book Utsman ibn Affan there are characters value that are loaded in law number 20 of 2003, among them are religious, honest, tolerance, disiplice, work hard, creative, independent, democratic, curiosity, spirit of nationality, love country, appriciate achievement, friendly/communicative, love peace, like to read,environemental care, social care, responbillity. in the Utsman ibn Affan’s life story book also relevant to education in Indonesia at the moment.
