Abstract

Children is someone who is weak and therefore vulnerable to violence perpetrated by the closest individuals, both family, friends, and society. The role of families, communities, and related institutions is very much needed in providing assistance, case resolution, protection and understanding of children who are victims of violence. P2TP2A Klaten Regency is an integrated institution that is engaged in handling victims of violence and aims to bridge the desires between perpetrators and victims and fulfill children's rights. The purpose of this research is to determine the role of P2TP2A in protecting child victims of violence, the obstacles faced by P2TP2A, and child protection from an Islamic perspective. The research method used in this study is an empirical juridical approach, because in this study it examines the legal provisions on child protection and its implementation in the role of P2TP2A Klaten Regency in protecting child victims of violence. This research is descriptive because it describes clearly and in detail the object of research, namely the role of P2TP2A. Data collection methods are literature study, interviews, observation, and documentation. The data analysis method used in this research is descriptive qualitative analysis method. The results of the study stated that P2TP2A has several services in carrying out their duties, namely complaint services, health, social rehabilitation, legal enforcement and assistance, repatriation and social reintegration. The provision of services must be based on existing principles, adapted to the needs and consent of the victim. In its implementation there are still obstacles faced by P2TP2A such as lack of budget, infrastructure, and human resources.
