Abstract

Human life cannot be separated from education, including non-formal education. The mosque as one of the facilities for the implementation of education outside of school is able to provide education that is important for human life. Mosques in Indonesia are generally only used as a place to pray and read the Qur'an. Unlike the mosque during the time of the Prophets which was also used as a place to learn various kinds of knowledge. Not only knowledge about religion, but also various knowledge in living life both in this world and in the hereafter. It is almost the same with the mosque in Sragen City, namely the Al Falah Grand Mosque. In the past year, it has become a national pilot mosque and is visited by many worshipers both from within the Sragen area and from outside Sragen. This is because several programs from mosques that support the development of Islamic education are considered different from most mosques in general. The purpose of the research conducted is to 1) Knowing the role of Masjid Raya Al Falah Sragen in the development of Islamic education in the community. 2) Identify various supporting and inhibiting factors of various programs at Masjid Raya Al Falah Sragen in the development of Islamic education in the community. This research is a qualitative research using phenomenological methods, which is based on a phenomenon that is currently happening. The collection of various data was carried out by means of observation, namely by observing directly the activities at the Al Falah Grand Mosque, Sragen. Then interviewed several sources related to the information they wanted to obtain, and did documentation of mosques, data and various program activities. The result of the research is that the Masjid Raya Al Falah Sragen has several program activities related to the development of Islamic education in the community which include aqidah, worship, and muamalah. Some of the Al Falah Grand Mosque programs include various studies carried out, TPA, and the Madina program. The program covers the activities of studying. While in worship activities that are different from other mosques are the one day one juz program. Supporting factors in the development of education include adequate mosque facilities, the level of community enthusiasm and environmental factors. Also in teaching management, human resources who are experts in their fields, and good financial and financing management. While the inhibiting factors are the lack of TPA teachers, environmental and family factors, and the assumption that people are too late to learn. Mosques have had many roles in terms of Islamic education both for the people inside Sragen and those outside Sragen. Keywords: The role of the mosque, Islamic Education, Nonformal Education
