Abstract

During the Covid-19 pandemic, the coaching and education process continues even though it is online. With the online teaching and learning process, early teens need people who can supervise, guide, and pay attention to them. Indirectly, online schools have returned the duties and responsibilities of single parents in providing guidance to early teens, especially moral development. This type of research uses field research with a phenomenological approach. Data sources consist of two, namely primary and secondary. Primary data were obtained from direct observation and interviews with ten single parents who have children, especially those aged 12-15 years or early teens and village heads. While secondary data obtained from the results of observations and documentation. The data collection methods used in this study were the observation method, the interview method, and the documentation method. Analysis of qualitative data analysis uses three steps, namely reducing data, presenting data, and drawing conclusions. Based on the results of research that has been carried out, data shows that the role of single parents in fostering the morals of early adolescents during the Covid-19 pandemic is that single parents make good habits, provide the best education, teach goodness and leave badness and instill discipline and responsibility towards their children. This is evidenced by tangible results that show that their children have good behavior and words because their parents have set an example and good habits. This can be seen in early teens whose parents live just relaxing, playing with friends, playing cellphones, and delaying what should be done such as praying, school assignments, or homework. This proves that there is a difference between single parents who are busy at work and single parents who are housewives and do work at home. In carrying out the moral development there are factors that influence it, namely the supporting factors, namely family conditions at home, a good environment, and the attention of single parents. Then the inhibiting factors are child psychology, single parent knowledge, limited time with early teens, technological developments, and economic factors.
