Abstract
Basically every human being is a leader and will be held accountable for his leadership. In addition, the Qur'an is a guide for human life which if you stick to it, you will not go astray. In the Qur'an, terms that describe leaders, including the term Ulil Amri. The word ulil amri itself is mentioned in the Qur'an twice, namely in QS An-Nisa' verse 59 and also QS An-Nisa' verse 83. In that verse it is not only mentioned the term ulil amri but also the term obedience to ulil amri the. In this study the author will focus on the study of QS An-Nisa' verse 59 and verse 83, through the interpretive approach of Imam Al-Bagawī and Imam Al-Fakhru Ar-Rāzī. Bagawī and Imam Al-Fakhru Ar-Rāzī against QS An-Nisa' verses 59 and 83 regarding ulil amri? What are the differences and similarities in the interpretation of Imam Al-Bagawī and Imam Al-Fakhru Ar-Rāzī of QS An-Nisa' verses 59 and 83 regarding ulil amri? supporting hadiths that lead to the meaning of ulil amri itself. This is different from the interpretation of Imam Al-Fakhru Ar-Rāzī who is more critical of the meaning of the word ulil amri. He provides a very scientific and logical understanding so that there will be no more objections to his statements.
