Abstract
The “Citra Muda” Farmer Group is a farmer group located in Sidomukti Hamlet, Kopeng Village, Getasan District, Semarang Regency which has a function as a forum for learning together as well as engaging in the production and development of vegetable commodities. From these geographical conditions and opportunities, they have succeeded in cultivating more than 40 types of vegetables. However, there is one type of vegetable that the farmer group finds difficult to cultivate, namely the chili plant. Researchers found that young farmers complained about the difficulty in identifying the types of diseases in chili plants and how to deal with them. This encourages the “Citra Muda” Farmer Group, which seeks to introduce and teach the agricultural system to the whole community, both farmers and students, so that there is an easy method for young farmers who can find out how diseases are in chili plants and how the solutions are for community diseases in chili plants. the. Therefore, it will be developed by means of an application that can help young farmers practice chili cultivation more easily. Expert system design for diagnosing chili plant diseases in android-based research uses rule-based reasoning with the forward chaining method. The benefit of this research is an android-based expert system that can be used and relied on for users to provide solutions to easily find diseases in chili plants and appropriate handling solutions through mobile applications.
