Abstract
The sars-cov-2 virus or better known as covid-19 has been declared a pandemic by WHO. This virus has been around since 2019 and has only received serious attention from the Indonesian government since the beginning of 2020. For the prevention of this virus, the Government purchased a vaccine and started a vaccination program since January 2021 which reaped the pros and cons. For this, the researcher uses framing analysis which is used to find out how online media packs a fact into news. In this study using online media Tempo and Republika. Tempo was chosen because it upholds journalistic, professional and independent values. Republika was chosen because it has ties to Erick Thohir who is the Minister who is considered to have power over editorial policy. This study uses a framing analysis model of Zhongdang Pan and Gerald M. Kosicki which meets the micro and macro elements. The framing analysis of the Pan and Kosicki model has 4 dimensions, namely syntax, script, thematic, and rhetorical. There are differences in the results of the framing of the two media. Tempo seems more critical in conveying news about vaccines from January to March 2021. Not only reporting on the vaccine program, but also reporting on the causes and effects of the program. Republika packs news that tends to show progress and shows the side of the Government that tends to side with the people in the Covid issue. The results of the framing of the two media imply that a number of media ideologies influence the media in packaging news.
