Abstract
Education is one area that must receive great attention. One of the components in educational institutions that strongly supports improving the quality of education is the teacher. The teacher's performance can be influenced by several factors, including teacher certification and motivation. The purpose of this study is to describe the effect of certification and work motivation on teacher performance at MTs Negeri 1 Wonogiri, so that it can be useful to add to the scientific treasures, especially about the effect of certification and motivation on teacher performance.The type of research paradigm used in this research is mixed methods research, namely a method that combines quantitative and qualitative methods. The approach used in this study is a descriptive method with a phenomenological approach. The population in this study were all teachers and students of MTs Negeri 1 Wonogiri, while the samples of this study were 30 teachers and 30 students of MTs Negeri 1 Wonogiri. The sampling technique used convenience sampling. Data collection techniques used in this study were through interviews, documentation, observation and questionnaires. Data analysis was carried out using a linear regression model.The results show that certification has a significant effect on the performance of teachers at MTs Negeri 1 Wonogiri. Work motivation has a significant effect on teacher performance at MTs Negeri 1 Wonogiri.
