Abstract

Formal education is education in schools that are organized, systematic and have a certain level and time that lasts from Kindergarten to college. The aims of this study are 1) to analyze the distribution pattern of basic education facilities in Kudus Regency, and 2) to analyze the fulfillment of basic education facilities in Kudus Regency. The analytical method used to obtain the first objective is quantitative description analysis. The analytical method used in determining the spatial pattern of basic education facilities is the nearest neighbor analysis. Data processing using Geographic Information System (GIS) technology. Meanwhile, for the second objective, qualitative description method is used to analyze the fulfillment of basic education facilities through spatial analysis of the number of laboratories and school enrollment rates (APS). The results obtained from this study are (I) the value of the distribution pattern of the Elementary School (SD) building has a value of T = 1.96. The T value is close to 2, so it can be said that the distribution pattern of elementary schools in the research area is distributed. Meanwhile, the fulfillment of basic education facilities in the research area has been fulfilled. By calculating the School Participation Rate (APS) the highest is in Kota District at 84.8%, while the lowest APS value is in Jati District at 49.1%. The total APS value in the research area is 58.0%. Based on the analysis of the existing laboratory facilities in elementary schools, of the total 397 schools in the research area, only 45% of the schools have laboratory facilities or around 179 elementary schools. The highest number of laboratories is found in Kota Kudus District with 34 schools, while the lowest number of laboratories is in Undaan District with 9 schools.
