Abstract

Introduction: The percentage of malnutrition incidence in Bolon Village is 4.2%, where Bolon Village is one of the villages that has a high malnutrition rate in Colomadu. The nutritional status of underweight/U under five can be influenced by the history of exclusive breastfeeding and low birth weight. Babies with low birth weight have the potential to experience malnutrition because their organ functions are immature and affect the absorption of nutrients. Objective: This study aimed to determine the description of exclusive breastfeeding and birth weight in undernourished and well-nourished toddlers aged 6-59 months in Bolon Village, Colomadu sub-district in 2019. 2 Research Methodology: This research was descriptive research. The total population was 122 children under five, 16 samples for the group with less nutrition and 106 samples for the group with good nutrition. The collection used secondary data obtained from the 2019 village midwife report cohort data. Results: The results showed that the percentage of underweight in Bolon Village was still high, namely 13.1%. According to exclusive breastfeeding, there are toddlers who receive exclusive breastfeeding who are underweight by 75% and toddlers who are not exclusively breastfed have a normal weight of 32.1%. Toddlers with a history of LBW with normal weight status were 4.7% and toddlers with LBW who were underweight were 81.2%. Conclusion: The percentage of malnourished children under five had not met the target of the Karanganyar Health Office. There were LBW toddlers with good nutritional status, while there were still BBLN toddlers who had poor nutritional status, and there were still exclusive breastfeeding toddlers who had poor nutritional status.
