Abstract
Lilakno (2017) is a film by Imam Syafi'I which was originally used to complete a final project and it was got some awards at the Asian Youth Indie Film Festival 2018 and the 2018 Malang Film Festival Student Short Film. Lilakno tells the story of wife whose husband is having an affair with her own employee. This research analyze some patriarchal signs in Lilakno film using Roland Barthes' semiotic analysis that explain the sign through denotative, connotative and myth. This research is a qualitative descriptive study with a critical paradigm. The results of the study show that the Lilakno film displays several scenes that contain male domination over women inside and outside the household. The thick patriarchal culture in society makes women can’t being free and say what they want. The patriarchal culture also makes male domination stronger and it makes regulate female productivity and sexuality.
