Abstract

The role of the tourism industry has an influence on the economic sector, especially tourism in Pekanbaru City, the tourist visitors come from foreign and domestic. However, in 2020-2021 the tourism sector, especially cultural tourism in Pekanbaru City, was affected by the Covid-19pandemic which caused a decrease in the number of cultural tourists in Pekanbaru City. The purpose of this study was to determine the impact of the Covid-19pandemic on cultural tourism in Pekanbaru City. Stratified Quota Sampling is the method used in this study. The sample class was determined for the stakeholders of cultural tourism objects in Pekanbaru City. This method is used to determine the impact of the Covid-19pandemic on various sectors that are directly related and determine strategies for cultural tourism objects in Pekanbaru City. The result of the research is that the impact of Covid-19on tourism objects in Pekanbaru City has been closed for an undetermined time. Overall, the stakeholders experienced an impact such as a decrease in income, so they had to do new things to get income. The strategy used for tourism object stakeholders is the application of virtual tourism.
