Abstract

The role of the teacher in the teaching system is so important in the world of education, because the teacher is an intermediary who conveys knowledge to get to students. Various efforts have been made by the government to develop teacher competence, in fact the overall competence of teachers is still low, so that learning achievement has not experienced a significant increase. This study is to describe the Analysis of Competence Improvement of Islamic Religious Education Teachers at SMP Muhammadiyah Sinar Fajar and SMP Negeri 1 Pedan Klaten. This research is included in qualitative research by describing the data collected as the scope of research and the field as a place of research (field research). Data collection techniques in the form of interviews validated by observation, and documentation. The characteristics of increasing the competence of Islamic Religious Education Teachers at Sinar Fajar Muhammadiyah Junior High School are, by 1) adjusting the educational qualifications of Islamic Religious Education Teachers. 2) by facilitating and providing training. 3) internal supervision and guidance programs from authorized parties such as school principals or supervisors to provide direction and guidance so that Islamic Religious Education Teachers can improve teacher competency abilities. 4) join the Subject Teacher Deliberation community (MGMP) so that teachers can find out more information related to learning. The characteristics of increasing the competence of Islamic Religious Education Teachers at SMP Negeri 1 Pedan are, by 1) adjusting the educational qualifications of Islamic Religious Education Teachers. 2) by facilitating and providing training held from the school and from outside the school 3) internal supervision and guidance programs from the competent authorities such as school principals or supervisors to provide direction and guidance so that Islamic Religious Education Teachers can improve the competence of teachers. 4) join the Subject Teacher Deliberation community (MGMP) so that teachers can find out more information related to learning.
