Abstract

The current global era encourages countries in the world to engage in international trade. One of the tools and sources of financing in development and international trade is foreign exchange reserves, this research is important to do to determine the effect of macroeconomic variables on foreign exchange reserves. The purpose of this study is to analyze the effect of exports, FDI, foreign debt and also the inflation rate on foreign exchange reserves. This study uses quantitative secondary data on a time series of 20 years starting from 2000-2019. The method used in this research is Ordinary Least Square (OLS). The results showed that exports, foreign debt and inflation had a positive and significant effect on foreign exchange reserves. Meanwhile, FDI has no effect on foreign exchange reserves
