Abstract
This study is generally attempted to examine: (1) The effect of information literacy skills on the effectiveness of communication in learning for the first grade of SMK Muhammadiyah 3 Gemolong. (2) The effect of instructional multimedia on the effectiveness of communication in learning for the first grade of SMK Muhammadiyah 3 Gemolong. (3) the effect of information literacy skills and instructional multimedia on the effectiveness of communication in learning for the first grade of SMK Muhammadiyah 3 Gemolong. This study is a type of a comparative casual research. The population in this study are the first grade students of SMK Muhammadiyah 3 Gemolong which is amount 113 students. Samples were taken as many as 84 students by using technique of Simple Random Sampling. The methods of data collection used a questionnaire. The technique of data analysis used multiple linear regression analysis. The result of regression analysis obtained the regression line equation: Y= 8,680 + 0,411X1 +0,403X2. The equation shows that the effectiveness of communication in learning is influenced by the information literacy skills and instructional multimedia. The conclutions are: (1) Information literacy skills has an effect on the effectiveness of communication in learning. (2) Instructional multimedia has an effect on the effectiveness of communication in learning. (3) Information literacy and instructional multimedia skills have an effect on the effectiveness of communication in learning. (4) The coefficient of determination (R2) is 0.491 0r 49.1%, it means that the variables of information literacy and instructional multimedia affect the effectiveness of communication in learning in amount of 49.1% while 50.9% is influenced by other variables which are not examined. (5) The calculation of the relative contribution of information literacy skills is 51% and instructional multimedia is 49%. Meanwhile, the result of the effective contribution of information literacy skills is 25.05% and instructional multimedia is 24.05%.
