Abstract

The establishment of a new airport in Kulon Progo Regency has an impact on spatial changes in the surrounding area. Related to government policies that will create an aerotropolis area that changes the function of the surrounding land in order to maximize the existence of the airport as the center of the airport city. Due to the increasing number of job openings caused by nyia airport in Kulon Progo will cause more people to come to the area with the aim to find work at the airport or work on projects in the aerotropolis area. In response to the need for shelter in the aerotropolis area, vertical occupancy is the right solution because it is more practical, efficient and does not consume too much land. But in its development vertical occupancy has higher social problems because residents feel they do not have control and personal responsibility in occupancy with areas owned by many people (Newman 1996). As a solution to this problem, the design of this vertical residence has a Co-living concept that aims to increase social interaction between its residents, and has a more affordable price than apartments with the same facilities. The design of this co-living apartment has targeted residents, namely fresh graduates, musa couples, employees who work around the Kulon Progo aerotropolis area, ex-patriat groups, and the general public. The design process in co-living apartments is in the form of site concept ideas, micro concepts, macro concepts, and with emphasis on co-living concepts that will be applied to buildings.
