Abstract

The transformer is the main and most important component in the distribution of electrical energy to be distributed to consumers. In the operation of the transformer, disturbances often occur which can inhibit the transformer and even damage the transformer, so an equipment or protection system is needed that can prevent interference. These disturbances can be overcome with a protection system. Differential relay protection is a typical solution to protect power transformers against interference due to its selectivity, high sensitivity and fast response. Differential protection is based on the fact that any disturbance in electrical equipment will cause the incoming current to be different from the outgoing current. Thus, we can compare the two currents either in magnitude or in phase or both and output a trip if the difference exceeds a predetermined value. The method used is data collection carried out at the Jajar Substation and selecting journals related to the research net as a reference. Mathematical calculations are done manually after all data is collected. On the voltage side of 150kV the ratting current obtained is 254.045 A and on the voltage side of 22kV the ratting current obtained is 1732.06 A. This is based on the calculation of the test results, in determining the CT ratio the ratting current will be used as appropriate consideration in determining the CT ratio used. . On the 150kV side of the transformer, 300:1 A is used and on the 22kV side, 2000:5 is used. The results of the calculation of the setting current obtained are 0.318A.
