Abstract
Letters are a very important means of communication and authentic evidence in an agency. Many letters come in and out at SMP Negeri 2 Kartasura. The process of managing letters at SMP Negeri 2 Kartasura is still not done computerized or is still done conventionally. That is by recording incoming and outgoing mail data into the agenda book and storing it in paper or hardfile form. The process carried out in this way will experience obstacles such as finding it difficult to find letters and experiencing letter loss. This study aims to develop a website-based mail archive information system at SMP Negeri 2 Kartasura that is appropriate and easy to manage mail archives. In developing this system, the method used is the waterfall method, which includes 5 stages, namely needs analysis, design, coding, testing, and implementation. The programming language used in developing this system is the Hypertext Preprocessor (PHP) programming language with the CodeIgniter Framework version 4. This research produces a website-based mail archive information system that can record letters, upload mail files, print reports by date, and can perform searches. letters that can assist administrative staff in managing mail archives. Researchers use Black Box testing and UAT (User Acceptance Test) in testing this system. Black Box testing shows that all the features and menus contained in this system operate as expected. The results of the UAT (User Acceptance Test) show an average percentage of 80.75%, thus indicating that this mail archive information system is accepted and suitable for use by users.
