Abstract

Mangroves are one of the ecosystems that live between the coast and the mainland. The existing mangrove ecosystem has continued to change over the last 6 years. This change needs to be mapped in order to find out the location and extent of existing mangrove changes. This study aims to (1) analyze the distribution of mangrove land cover in the Coastal area, Trangkil District, Pati Regency in 2015 and 2021, (2) Analyze changes in mangrove land cover in the Coastal area, Trangkil District, Pati Regency in 2015 and 2021, (3) Identify various factors that cause changes in mangrove cover area in the Coastal area, Trangkil District, Pati Regency in 2015 and 2021. This study uses Remote Sensing data, namely Sentinel Imagery 2A and 2B in 2015 and 2021 recording years. The distribution of mangrove land cover is mapped digitally through the interpretation of Sentinel 2A and Sentinel 2B images using the sample ROI method for each land cover class. The interpretation results are then classified using the supervised maximum likelihood method. The results of this classification are then tested for accuracy/field checks to find out where the changes occurred and the factors that caused the changes. The results of this study indicate that there has been a change in mangrove forests over a period of 6 years with a changed land area of 21.39 Ha (2015) to 45.89 Ha (2021). Changes in mangrove cover occurred in 6 villages with a percentage change of 2% every 6 years from the previous area. Kertomulyo Village is a village that is experiencing growth and expansion of mangrove area compared to other villages. Changes in mangroves that occur have a random pattern (spread unevenly) due to natural factors, namely coastal abrasion which erodes the shoreline which has the ability to adapt between the distribution of planted mangrove trees, due to high tides that result in mangrove trees being unable to grow on the coast North Beach.
