Abstract

Mothers who have low knowledge about MCH tend to be unaware that their child has nutritional disorders. Mother's attitude towards the MCH handbook plays an important role in preventing and the occurrence of nutritional disorders in toddlers. Ngadirojokidul Village has a stunting prevalence of 16.64% which is the highest prevalence in Ngadirojo District in 2020.This study aimed to determine the correlation between the knowledge and attitude of toddler mothers about the Maternal and Child Health (KIA) book with the incidence of stunting in Ngadirojokidul Village, Ngadirojo District, Wonogiri Regency.This study used an observational method with a cross sectional approach. The population of this study were toddlers aged 24-59 months. The Sampling method applied simple random sampling technique. Respondents were 50 mothers and toddlers. The Collecting of the data used a questionnaire consisting of questions about knowledge and attitude towards the MCH handbook. The measurement of the nutritional status of the toddlers was done by measuring the height of the toddlers with a microtoice. The Data analysis used Pearson's product moment with the help of SPSS 23. Mother's knowledge and attitude was mostly in the sufficient category 66% and 62%, The results showed a correlation between the level of knowledge of toddler mothers with the nutritional status of the toddlers with the incidence of stunting (p = 0.024), while the correlation between the attitude of toddler mothers with the incidence of stunting (p=0.000). Knowledge and attitude of toddler mothers about the MCH handbook were related to the incidence of stunting in toddlers.
