Abstract

The very rapid development of technology makes many choices of technology available that can be integrated in learning activities. Starting with the emergence of the term e-learning, now the term continues to grow to produce a new term in the form of m-learning or mobile learning. Benefits of m-learning methods itself is in the ease of accessing learning materials without limitations of space and time. One of the most popular mobile devices is a smartphone with the Android operating system. The android platform which is open and free from licenses has made many android-based applications developed. This study aims to develop an android-based learning media with the name Nari that can be used independently by 5th grade students in SBdP subjects. This research is a research and development (RnD) research with a development model by Borg & Gall which is modified into 6 steps, namely:(1) Research and data collection (research and information collecting); (2) Planning (planning); (3) Development of a product draft (develop a preliminary form of product); (4) preliminary field testing; (5) Revising the test results (main product revision); and (6) field testing (main field testing). The subjects involved in this study came from 5 elementary schools and Islamic elementary schools in the Karanganyar and Sukoharjo districts with a total of 70 respondents consisting of 20 teachers and 50 students. The results of the analysis on the data of public trials that were carried out resulted in an average coefficient value of 0.814 in the aspect of appearance and use; 0.792 on the learning aspect; and 0.790 in the material and language aspects, all of which are in the high validity category. This result show that Nari application is feasible and can be used as learning media in SBdP subjects at 5th grade student.
