Abstract
The object of this research is the large and medium industrial sector. This study aims to analyze the effect of each independent variable, namely the number of business units, production value and the district minimum wage (UMK), on the dependent variable, namely the absorption of labor in the industrial sector in East Java province by district/city. The data used in this study is secondary data in the type of time series data from 2014 to 2019 and cross section data covering 38 districts/cities obtained from the Central Java and East Java statistical centers in Figures. The quantitative analysis method used in this study is panel data regression analysis using three estimation models, namely the common effect model, fixed effect model, and random effect model. The results obtained in this study indicate that all independent variables have a positive and significant effect on employment in East Java.
