Abstract

landfill site are very useful for the surrounding community for household and industrial waste disposal containers. Improper maintenance of the landfill will have a negative impact on local residents. The pungent smell is very disturbing activities for local residents so that the need a new TPA location. The purpose of the research are to analyze the suitability of the land for the TPA location in Margorejo District, obtain public opinion on the TPA location and recommend the TPA from the opinions of the community based on interviews conducted. The method used in this study is in the form of grading and scoring of four parameters, that is slope left, land use, drainage and soil texture. Overlay processing and scoring of the four parameters resulted in a TPA land suitability map and there were three classes, namely the Very Appropriate class > 8, the Appropriate class 4 – 8 and the Disagree class >4. The results of this study are recommendations for the location of a new TPA in Bumirejo village with an area of approximately 5 hectares and a distance to settlements of 1 km. The location of the TPA is on a dry land use with coarse soil texture, 0-8% flat slope and good drainage conditions.
