Abstract

This study aims to describe the character development of discipline and responsibility at the Orphanage Putri Aisyiyah Karanganyar including implementation, obstacles faced and solutions given. This research uses a qualitative type with a case study strategy. The data collection technique was done by observing, interviews, and documentation. Test data validity by triangulating data sources and data collection techniques. Data analysis used interactive analysis techniques through data collection, data reduction, presentation and drawing conclusions. The results showed that fostering the character of discipline and responsibility, namely managing children's time so that they could wake up on time in carrying out their obligations for dawn prayers in congregation, morning prayers in congregation also affected children's discipline in carrying out other activities in the morning such as dawn study activities, morning sports. together and go to school together on time. The obstacles faced are that there are some children who do not obey the rules and regulations that are implemented in the orphanage due to the time of performing the dawn prayers in congregation at dawn when some children are still sleeping so they are late in attending the dawn prayers in congregation on time. The next obstacle is the lack of strict sanctions against children who do not attend the dawn prayer in congregation and also the lack of motivation from the coaches, definitely care for the children so that some of them do not attend the dawn prayers in congregation. The solution given is that the orphanage coach reduces the hours of activities for children at night, especially activities that are not useful so that they can sleep on time to carry out the dawn prayers in congregation. The supervisor of the orphanage also carries out an evaluation once a month in conducting coaching so that they are adaptable to knowing the weaknesses of the previously carried out coaching so that in the future the guidance carried out runs smoothly and on target.
