Abstract

The Taekwondo team at the University of Muhammadiyah Surakarta won 5 gold and 4 bronze awards at the 2021 Nations Heroes Day Championship (09/12/21). This was conveyed by Prof. Dr. Sofyan Arif, M. Si. as a form of appreciation of pride for the achievements of students. The impact of the pandemic should not be an obstacle to always excel for the academic community of the University of Muhammadiyah Surakarta. As explained earlier, the Student Activity Unit (UKM) of Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta sent 18 athletes to take part in the Taekwondo national championship which was held by the Central Sulawesi Taekwondo Pengrov on November 8-10, 2021. The winner of the gold award was Sylviana Mega Yuriyanti from the Psychology and Adhiasa Study Program. Mahendra Wijaya from the Management Study Program. The championships held are unique, because from preparation to training can be carried out online. If a condition is hindered, the event can also be competed virtually or indirectly.
