Abstract
The learning system from home is boldly a learning system that requires the role of parents from students to guide children. Therefore, interpersonal communication between parents and children is needed in optimizing the learning from home program during Covid-19 pandemic. This study aims to determine how interpersonal communication between parents and children in optimizing the learning from home program. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative, using data collection, namely interviews, after collecting primary data obtained directly from informants through interviews. Sampling technique using purposive sampling method which has been taken samples with certain considerations and criteria. The data analysis technique uses the Miles and Huberman interactive model, including: (1) data reduction, (2) data presentation that draws conclusions, (3) conclusion testing or levers. The results of research on interpersonal communication between parents and children which show that they are carrying out learning activities from home are related in two directions, where parents and children can exchange opinions and communicate. This is done by: 1) asking the problems faced by the child, then the child provides feedback by telling the problems faced, 2) asking how the brave learning process is followed by children and discussing the material obtained from the process, 3) starting communication by reminding and asking children's difficulties in learning, 4) time is not only for communicating, asking when it is time to study and providing guidance to children .
