Abstract
Adolescents have more at risk of anemia because they have menstruation every month and tea drinking habits also contributed to incidence of anemia. Based on previous research, percentage of suspected anemia incidence was 37,53%. This study aimed to determine the correlation between tea drinking habits and menstrual cycle with the incidence of suspected anemia of adolescent girls in Sukoharjo Regency. The study was conducted with a cross-sectional study design. The research subjects were selected by multistage sampling method of 90 adolescent girls in Sukoharjo Regency with inclusion criteria. Data for tea drinking habits from a 24hour Recall form for 7 days, menstrual cycle data from question questionnaire related last 3 months of menstrual cycle and data on suspected anemia was determined used a questionnaire for early detection signs of anemia. Data analysis used Chi Square (x2) statistical. The results of statistical analysis showed adolescent girls in Sukoharjo Regency with the habit of drinking tea in normal category was 70,9% and abnormal category was 29,1%. The menstrual cycle in normal category was 40% and abnormal category was 60%. The incidence of suspected anemia in category suspected was 34,5% and category non suspected was 65,5%. The results of Chi Square test analysis showed the tea drinking habits (p=0,029) and menstrual cycle (p=0,623) with the incidence of suspected anemia for adolescent girls in Sukoharjo Regency. The results of this study there was a correlation between tea drinking habits and there was no correlation between menstrual cycle the incidence of suspected anemia in adolescent girls.
