Abstract
This study discusses the application of the smart fruit-based Make a Mach strategy to foster student motivation which is applied by grade II teachers at SD N Tambakboyo 1. The objectives of this study are 1.) to describe the smart fruit-based Make a Match strategy to foster student motivation, 2.) Constraints in the smart fruit-based Make a Match strategy to grow students 'motivation, 3.) Solutions in overcoming the obstacles in the smart fruit-based Make a Match strategy to foster students' motivation. This research uses descriptive qualitative method. Collecting data by means of a questionnaire / questionnaire and interviews. The subject is the classroom teacher and students. The validity of the data using triangulation of sources and methods. The results of the study were the steps of the Make a Match learning strategy based on smart fruit implemented in schools related to growing motivation. The teacher gives the material, then divides the students into several groups, each member of the group is given a different assignment, some are in the form of questions and notes in the form of answers. Students are required to find answers in different groups. When looking for answers, students must race against time because each activity has a certain time limit. After one-on-one with their partners, students are asked to read the results, then the teacher provides suggestions and affirmation of the students' answers. It is hoped that with this new activity, students will be more enthusiastic in learning, more diligent and have a strong ambition towards learning to gain broad insights. Interaction with friends is more focused. The obstacles experienced by the teacher were in the form of limited time and preparation for the use of instructional media, some students did not understand the material, as well as the diversity of characters of the students. With the solution to optimize the available time, prepare the media in advance, be assertive to all students.
