Abstract
This study aims to describe the role of the community in waste management activities at bumdes in the village of Jeron, Nogosari District, Boyolali Regency in 2021. The subjects in this study were the village head, village officials, and the Jeron village community. This data collection technique uses observation and interviews. Data validity is done by using triangulation of data sources, triangulation of data collection techniques, and triangulation of time. The analysis used in this study is an interactive model analysis. The BUMdes indicators themselves include: (1) factors driving the community's role in waste management, (2) accountability mechanisms for BUMDes managers (finance, performance and business development), selection system for BUMDes managers and BUMDes business units. The results of this study indicate that the performance of village officials in managing BUMDes is quite good. In waste management activities, there are three programs, namely: (1) Waste bank, (2) Waste recycling for handicrafts, (3) Making compost from organic waste. Regarding community discipline related to waste management activities, it is also quite good. The waste management activities in Jeron village also have a positive impact on Jeron village itself. The village government is also quite firm in giving sanctions to people who do not comply with the rules, the sanctions are in the form of light warnings and fines. From the results of the research, the people of Jeron village are very satisfied with the program so that it is rare for people who do not obey the rules because each community already has self-awareness.
