Abstract

The generator does not require initial excitation for generation using a permanent magnet. Using permanent magnet synchronous generators in wind power plants is one of the best options. Induction that produces back EMF will occur when the magnetic field moves according to the direction of rotation. This study discusses how to analyse the back EMF value generated by the 12 slot 8 pole ¼ permanent magnet synchronous generator model. The method used in this research is to perform 2D transient solve with motion using Magnet Infolytica 7.5 software. By rotating ever 3° which takes 0,005 milliseconds, it will be known that the average voltage generated from the PMSG 12 slot 8 pole is 18,346 volts.
