Abstract
Introduction: The nutritional status of children under five is one of the important factors in achieving optimal health status. The prevalence of under-five malnutrition in Lalung Village in August 2020 showed there were children under five with underweight 2,12% and malnutrition 1,06%, stunting 3,18%. Exclusive breastfeeding and monitoring of compliance with Posyandu visits need to be considered in order to achieve optimal nutritional status of toddlers. Objective: This study aimed to determine the correlation between exclusive breastfeeding and adherence to Posyandu visits with the nutritional status of children under five. Research Methodology: Research used a cross-sectional design, the sample of this research was children 12-24 months old, totaling 176 toddlers obtained by simple random sampling. Data were obtained from infant registration books, toddler anthropometric data and toddler weighing registration books. Results: The majority of toddlers received exclusive breastfeeding 77,3% and obedient in visiting Posyandu 73.3%. The nutritional status of toddlers in Lalung showed there were 10,2% underweight, 7,4% stunting. The results of the study showed that correlation between exclusive breastfeeding and the nutritional status of infants with W/A index (p-value = 0.007), and H/A (p-value = 0.002). The analysis showed correlation between adherence to Posyandu visits and the nutritional status of infants with index W/A (p-value = 0.575) and H/A (p-value = 0.749). Conclusion: There was a correlation between exclusive breastfeeding and the nutritional status of infant index W/A and H/A. There was no correlation between adherence to Posyandu visits and the nutritional status of infant index W/A and H/A.
