Abstract
Backgroud: Achievement of Exclusive Breastfeeding in Indonesia in 2018 was 37.3%. This was still below the national and WHO targets of 50%. One of the causes of failure in exclusive breastfeeding is the mother's lack of knowledge so that she gives formula milk to baby. The exclusive breastfeeding has many benefits for infants and one of them is that breast milk has nutritional content that is in accordance with the baby's needs for the process of growth and development, protects from infectious diseases. Objective: This study aimed to criticize or review the correlation between mother's knowledge of exclusive breastfeeding and exclusive breastfeeding to infants from previous studies. Methodology: The research design used in this study was a literature review by reviewing 10 reputable national journals of Sinta 1 to Sinta 4 through the link http://sinta.ristekbrin.go.id/. The journal inclusion criteria used were full text and in Indonesian, the type of research in the journal was cross-sectional. The subjects studied were infants (6-12 months). Exclusion criteria were articles published before 2011 and paid articles. Result: Of the 10 articles that discuss the correlation between mother's knowledge about exclusive breastfeeding, most of them stated that there was a significant correlation. The articles had also stated that other factors influencing exclusive breastfeeding were education, occupation, age, information from health workers and family support. Conclusion: Based on the literature review, there was a significant correlation between mother's knowledge about exclusive breastfeeding and exclusive breastfeeding for baby.
