Abstract
This study aims to determine the location of students' mistakes in working on math story problems in data presentation material and to find out the factors of student errors in working on math story problems on data presentation material. The subjects used for the study were students of class VII-B in SMP 1 Sukoharjo as many as 31 students. Data collection techniques used are the results of tests and interviews. Data analysis techniques were carried out through data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. The research subjects were 3 students with low, medium and high category errors. Subjects with high cateory were able to work on story problems on data presentation material correctly, subjects were able to understand problems by describing information in the form of mathematical models. Subjects can solve all the questions given correctly and correctly. Subjects with moderate cateory were able to understand the problem, but students did not write down what was known and did not write down what was asked so that the master's degree students were unable to understand the concept. Subjects with low cateory are not able to work on math story problems in presenting data into mathematical models, so S-3 is not able to solve problems correctly and completely.
