Abstract
This study aims to describe the use, effectiveness, constraints, and solutions of the use of the Small Group Discussion strategy of Team Quiz collaboration in class VII-D students of SMP Negeri 1 Mojolaban, Sukoharjo Regency, for the 2020/2021 academic year. This study uses a combined method of quantitative and qualitative approaches (mixing methods). The design of the quantitative approach uses Pre-experimental with One Group Pretest Posttest Design, while in qualitative research it uses case studies. Quantitative data collection techniques using the test method, while qualitative with observation and interviews. The validity test of the quantitative instrument was used to measure the validity of the test items with the Product Moment correlation formula of crude numbers and the reliability test of the test instrument using the KR 20 formula. The validity of the qualitative data used triangulation of sources and techniques. Test requirements in the form of normality using Lilliefors and homogeneity with Bartlett. Quantitative data analysis using Paired Sample T-test. Qualitative data analysis using a flow model. The results of the research related to the process of using the Small Group Discussion strategy of Team Quiz collaboration, namely by giving questions (pretest) to students, then distributing material through Print Out Power Point, then giving questions (prettest) and closing the learning process with conclusions. The use of the Small Group Discussion strategy with Team Quiz collaboration has proven to be effective, as can be seen from the difference in the average score (pretest) of 73.2 which increased to 85.5 in (posttest). The obstacles faced are time constraints, facilities and infrastructure, the use of learning strategies, the limitations of students in understanding the material. An alternative solution to overcome these obstacles is to use the available time and coordinate with the school. The hypothesis proposed by Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted, meaning that there is a difference between before treatment (pretest) and after treatment (posttest) through the use of the Small Group Discussion strategy of Team Quiz collaboration. Based on the conclusions above, it implies that if the teacher wants students' understanding of the values of Indonesian democracy to increase, then it is very appropriate to use the Small Group Discussion strategy of Team Quiz collaboration.
