Abstract
Klaten Regency is one of the regencies in Central Java which has a fairly large rice field area, covering an area of 30,514 Ha. This is due to the availability of fertile paddy fields as well as adequate irrigation facilities and infrastructure, besides that development progress has resulted in the conversion of agricultural land to non-agricultural functions. The land potential index provides information on the direction of land use in accordance with land potential and resources. This study aims to determine: (1) Analyzing the index value of land potential in Klaten Regency. (2) Analyzing the potential level of lowland agricultural land based on the index value of land potential in Klaten Regency. (3) Assessing the alignment of the conversion of agricultural land to non-agricultural uses based on the RTRW in Klaten Regency. The method used in this research is the Land Potential Index analysis method with five constituent parameters, namely slope, lithology, soil type, and hydrology and the limiting factor is disaster vulnerability. Parameters that have been rated are then overlaid and classified according to the classification. The results showed that the Land Potential Index (IPL) class in Klaten Regency was divided into 3 classes, namely the low class with an IPL value of 10 – 15.9, the medium class with an IPL value of 16 – 23.2, and the high class with an IPL value of 24 – 26. Low-grade potential agricultural land is suitable for planting with root crops and legumes, while medium-to-high-potential agricultural land is suitable for rice, corn, and legumes. The level of harmony of agricultural land with the RTRW is 86% in conformable and 14% is not in conformable.
