Abstract

This study aims to describe the marketing, constraints and solutions of pure bamboo handicraft products in Magetan, East Java. The method used in this study uses qualitative research with an ethnographic approach to design. The subject of this research is the owner of a pure bamboo handicraft business, the marketing department and the consumer. Data collection techniques used are observation, interviews, documentation. The validity of this research data uses triangulation of sources and methods. While the data analysis technique is through data reduction, data display, conclusion drawing. The results showed that in the marketing of pure bamboo handicraft products, Magetan, East Java, always considers the quality of good raw materials, in addition to setting prices based on product quality, promotion is carried out conventionally by word of mouth, the location of the pure bamboo handicraft business is very strategic and the services provided are very good. nice and friendly. The obstacles he faced were the process of distributing goods, the nature of bamboo which is easily weathered and easily eaten by termites, limited capital and promotions that have not utilized technology optimally and intense competition. The solution to overcome these obstacles is to send the product directly without using a freight forwarder, to overcome the problem of bamboo which is easily weathered, the owner coats the bamboo using preservative liquid and with paint. The existence of a government program regarding loans for MSME actors is a solution to the capital constraints experienced by Magetan pure bamboo handicrafts, while in the promotion of pure bamboo handicrafts products have also begun to study the use of technology to facilitate the product marketing process. And by creating new innovations according to consumer needs to overcome intense competition.
