Abstract

Cancer is one of the palliative diseases that attack humans. In his case, cancer sufferers have many problems experienced because of the disease, ranging from complex physical problems, to psychological problems. Physical complaints that arise are usually mild pain to psychological complaints faced by patients are anxiety, fear of death, stress to depression. So that in their treatment, cancer patients need treatment that requires hoistic care and a good attitude from nurses. Nurses are important in providing a caring attitude to patients, especially in terms of spirituality to build positive emotional aspects in dealing with illness. The data listed in the PPSDM related to the number of nursing human resources in Central Java amounted to 53710. The sampling technique used purposive sampling with a large sample of 100 respondents. This study aims to describe the knowledge and attitudes of nurses in meeting the spiritual needs of cancer patients in Central Java. In this study, using a research instrument with 22 questions posed to respondents: 10 questions to measure the level of knowledge of nurses, and 12 questions to measure spiritual nurse support. The results of the study show that the average respondent has good knowledge and has given a positive attitude.
