Abstract

The behavior of consuming alcohol is one form of juvenile delinquency, this behavior can occur due to several factors, one of which is peer conformity. This study aims to determine the relationship between peer conformity and alcohol consumption behavior in adolescents in Grobogan Regency. The research method uses quantitative. This research uses purposive sampling technique to determine the sample. The sample of the research is adolescents 12 years to 23 years who have consumed alcoholic beverages who are domiciled in Grobogan Regency with a total of 107 respondents. Techniques to obtain data is done with a scale. The scale used is the peer conformity scale and the alcohol consumption behavior scale. Data analysis in testing the hypothesis used is the Tau Kendalls correlation method. From the results of this study, the correlation coefficient value is 0.037 and the sig (p) value is 0.300 (p>0.05) so that there is no relationship between peer conformity and drinking behavior. The hypothesis that there is a positive relationship between peer conformity and drinking behavior is rejected. Thus, high peer conformity has no relationship with alcohol consumption behavior in adolescents.
