Abstract

Introduction: 20.5 million (14,6%) baby was born with Low Birth Weight (LBW). The prevalence of Low Birth Weight (LBW) in Boyolali District has increased since 2018. One of the risk factors of LBW was complication during pregnancies, like anemia and hypertension in pregnant women. Objective: This study aimed to determine the correlation of anemia history and hypertension history during pregnancy with Low Birth Weight (LBW) incident in Boyolali. Method: The typed of this research was correlative analytical and cross-sectional studies. Sampling technic used by simple random sampling and sample of this research amount to 128 maternity women on Maternal and Child Health’s Sector in working area of Boyolali 2, Teras, and Sawit care center of subdistrict at Boyolali District in January, 2020 to June, 2021. This research used secondary data and was analyzed by chi square statistic method. Result: 55.5% of subject had anemia during pregnancy, 22.7% had hypertension during pregnancy, and there was 50% baby born with LBW. Based on analysis of anemia history during pregnancy with LBW incident obtained p value=0.001, while analysis of hypertension history during pregnancy with LBW incident obtained p value=0.004. Conclusion: There was correlation of anemia and hypertension during pregnancy with LBW incident in Boyolali District. This research is expected to show Care Center or Medical Center about the risk factors of LBW incident in Boyolali District.
