Abstract
SMP Negeri 2 Kabawetan, the researchers provided a ladder drill training method where the researchers assumed that by providing a ladder drill exercise program, they could increase running speed. Because in the training process that is carried out by the coach to soccer extracurricular participants, it is still classical and still focused on providing basic techniques and team strategy tactics in general. It is hoped that this training method can provide an increase in running speed so that it can be used as a reference by coaches and students. The purpose of this study was to determine whether there was an effect of the ladder drill training method on the running speed of soccer extracurricular participants at SMP Negeri 2 Kabawetan and to determine whether there was an effect of leg length on running speed in soccer extracurricular participants at SMP Negeri 2 Kabawetan. The number of samples used in this study amounted to 14 people who were divided into 2 groups, namely group A (long limbs) and group B (short limbs), with data collection techniques using purposive sampling. From the results of the analysis of the pre-test and post-test data (sprint 20 meter sprint) it was found that the value of sig <p 0.05 which indicates that there is a significant difference in the mean of the pre-test and post-test data so that it can be concluded that the ladder drill training method has a significant effect on an effort to increase the speed of the 20 meter sprint. The value of the increase between the pre-test and post-test data is (0.265). The results of the data analysis test found a sig>0.05 value between the pre-test and post-test data from the two groups, this indicates that there is no significant difference running speed of 20 meters between long legs and short legs.
