Abstract
The objectives of this study are to: (1) describe the management of the Senjoyo tourist attraction in Tegalwaton Village, Tengaran District, Semarang Regency. (2) describe the obstacles faced in the management of the Senjoyo tourist attraction in Tegalwaton Village, Tengaran District, Semarang Regency. This study uses a qualitative method with a descriptive design. Data collection techniques using interviews, observation and documentation. The subject of this research is the manager of the tourist attraction, the community around the tourist attraction, visitors and sellers at the tourist attraction. The object of this research is Senjoyo tourism object in Semarang Regency. Data analysis techniques are data reduction, data presentation, conclusion drawing and verification. The data validity technique used is source triangulation. The results of this study indicate that: (1) the management of the Senjoyo tourist attraction is currently quite good from the previous year with the improvement of facilities by the manager and the improvement of road access at the Senjoyo tourist attraction. (2) the obstacles faced in the management of the Senjoyo tourist attraction, namely: a) the lack of income obtained only through parking tickets of Rp. 3,000,-. From this income, it is then managed to develop the Senjoyo tourist attraction. b) the institutionalization in the management system at the Senjoyo tourism object has not been maximized, so that the management has not been gone well. c) lack of awareness of visitors to cleanliness at the Senjoyo tourist attraction by littering which causes environmental pollution in the tourist attraction area. d) security at the Senjoyo tourist attraction which is still very lacking, namely the lack of barriers and fences on the banks of ponds or rivers. e) the village government coordination has not been maximized which has resulted in the absence of regulations governing the management of Senjoyo so that its management is still running modestly. Things that can be done in the management of the Senjoyo tourist attraction include making a policy of paying entrance tickets as income that can be used as the development of the tourism object.
